Crossposts maintain a link back to the original post, making origin transparent to both community members and moderators. Aggressive crossposting of brand content across many subreddits in a short period triggers spam detection patterns. AutoModerator in destination subreddits may automatically remove crossposts depending on the source subreddit or account karma.
Relevance to Reddit
Crossposting is a legitimate organic amplification mechanism. High-performing brand content in one subreddit can be crossposted to related communities to extend reach without duplicating creative effort. However, crossposts must comply with destination subreddit rules — many communities prohibit crossposts — and should be used selectively rather than as a mass distribution tactic.
