Definition
In Karmic's Mention Hierarchy, a reference to a brand made by the brand itself inside its own subreddit. It is the lowest tier: necessary, but the least trusted and least visible to AI answers.
Context
Brand Organic Mentions should be disclosed and relevant to the thread. Overusing them turns a community into a product shrine and reduces the engagement that produces higher-tier mentions.
Relevance to Reddit
Brand Organic Mentions establish what a company offers and seed the conversation, but they carry the brand's own credibility rather than community trust. A program that relies on them alone will struggle to influence search results or AI citations.
