Community Flywheel
Definition
A Community Leverage growth model, as defined by Karmic, in which useful threads earn engagement, engagement expands distribution, and distribution activates more members who upvote, comment, subscribe, and eventually create threads of their own.
Context
Early on, the brand creates all of the subreddit's content and pushes every turn itself through seeding and paid promotion. As members begin contributing, the flywheel shifts toward member-created content, moving the community through the Crossover toward becoming Self-Sustaining.
Relevance to Reddit
Most Reddit tactics buy results one post at a time and stop when posting stops. The Community Flywheel compounds instead: each rotation grows the pool of people who know and trust the brand, so the same effort produces more organic reach over time.
