Subreddit Growth

Definition

A Reddit marketing framework, as defined by Karmic, in which a brand builds and grows its own subreddit so that members who engage there carry familiarity with the brand into the other communities where buyers research purchases.

Context

The framework combines three ideas: the Overlap Effect, the Community Flywheel, and algorithmic and psychological priming. It is executed in stages — a Subreddit Launch Sprint, then the Crossover into a Self-Generating community, then a Self-Sustaining one. The governing rule throughout is direction, not scripts: invite people in, but never tell them what to say.

Relevance to Reddit

Community Leverage replaces guest participation as Karmic's core Reddit strategy. It keeps the value of participation inside a space the brand moderates, gives the brand access to growth levers without third-party approval, and produces the independent brand mentions that search engines and AI answers cite most.
