Conversion Window

Reddit Ads

Definition

The time period after an ad impression or click during which a subsequent conversion is attributed to that ad. Reddit Ads Manager allows advertisers to customise view-through and click-through attribution windows.

Context

Attribution window settings are configured at the campaign level in Reddit Ads Manager. Different products benefit from different windows — a software subscription with a 30-day trial period warrants a longer conversion window than a direct e-commerce purchase. Test window settings as part of measurement strategy rather than leaving defaults unchanged.

Relevance to Reddit

Reddit's default attribution window (7-day click, 1-day view-through) is conservative and undercounts contribution for brands with longer consideration cycles. Extending the view-through window to 7 days often reveals a more complete picture of Reddit's upper-funnel influence. Always compare Reddit-reported attribution against third-party measurement before drawing budget conclusions.
