Definition
Karmic's ranking of Reddit brand mentions by credibility and search and AI value, from lowest to highest: Brand Organic Mentions, Community Organic Mentions, and Platform Organic Mentions.
Context
The hierarchy reflects who is speaking and where. A brand plugging itself is necessary but least trusted; independent members mentioning it in its own subreddit are indexed and citable; independent users mentioning it in unowned subreddits produce the strongest citation signal. Mentions are the output of the program, not something to chase directly.
Relevance to Reddit
Not all brand mentions carry equal weight. The more high-engagement threads a brand is mentioned positively in — especially by independent users in communities the brand does not own — the more often it appears in Google results and AI-generated answers about its category.
