Paid Promotion (Subreddit Growth)

>

Growth Levers

Definition

The second layer of Karmic's subreddit growth model, in which a brand uses Reddit Ads to distribute threads from its own subreddit to relevant audiences targeted by community, interest, or keyword.

Context

Karmic treats paid reach as ignition: it gives strong content an initial audience, and any comments, subscriptions, or return visits remain after the campaign ends. It does not make weak content credible or guarantee rankings. Karmic's directional starting budgets are $500–$1,000 per month for many B2C categories and $1,000–$2,000 for many B2B categories.

Relevance to Reddit

Paid promotion puts owned threads in front of people a new community cannot yet reach organically. Because distribution runs through Reddit's ad system, it does not require approval from moderators of the targeted communities, though it must follow Reddit's sitewide and advertising policies.
