Definition
In Karmic's Mention Hierarchy, an independent reference to a brand made in a subreddit the brand does not own. It is the highest tier and, according to Karmic, the strongest citation signal available for search and AI visibility.
Context
A brand cannot create Platform Organic Mentions directly without risking astroturfing. It can only build the familiarity and trust that make independent users more likely to recommend it when a relevant conversation appears.
Relevance to Reddit
Platform Organic Mentions are what buyers see when they search "best [category]" and what AI engines retrieve when summarizing Reddit consensus. They are the main output of the Overlap Effect and the ultimate goal of a Community Leverage program.
