Psychological Priming
Definition
A Community Leverage mechanism, as defined by Karmic, in which repeated useful interactions with a brand's subreddit build the familiarity and trust that make a member more likely to remember the brand when a relevant conversation appears elsewhere on Reddit.
Context
Psychological priming depends on usefulness, not frequency of brand messaging. A community built as a product shrine produces little of it, because members only remember brands that have genuinely helped them.
Relevance to Reddit
Psychological priming is how an owned community turns reach into recall. Members who have repeatedly found value in a brand's community are more likely to think of it when someone asks for a recommendation in another subreddit.
