Reddit Profile
Definition
A user's public-facing page on Reddit displaying their username, karma scores, account age, bio, profile image, banner, and (optionally) featured posts. The profile serves as the public identity layer of a Reddit account.
Context
Reddit expanded profile features in 2018 to enable richer personal and brand identity expression. Profile pages now support custom banners, pinned posts, and a follower system — users can follow accounts without joining a subreddit. Some brands use their Reddit profile as a lightweight owned channel for followers, though the subreddit format provides far more community interaction capability.
Relevance to Reddit
A complete, professional brand profile reduces moderator suspicion when participating in new communities and communicates organizational legitimacy to community members who click through to investigate the account. All brand accounts should have a complete profile — avatar, banner, bio, and at minimum a few visible posts — before beginning community participation.
