A post pinned to the top of a subreddit feed by moderators, ensuring visibility to all visitors regardless of vote score or recency. Each subreddit can maintain up to two stickied posts simultaneously.
Context
Stickied posts are visually distinguished with a pin icon and distinct background color. They remain at the top of the feed indefinitely until the moderator removes the sticky. This persistence makes stickied posts the primary vehicle for community-level communication in any subreddit — the first thing any new visitor sees when landing on the community.
Relevance to Reddit
For brands managing their own subreddit, stickied posts are the highest-visibility placement available without paid amplification. Pin community guidelines, featured AMAs, important product announcements, or key resource posts to maximize visibility for new and returning members. In third-party subreddits, only moderators can sticky content — brands cannot pin their own posts.
