Context
Reddit uses 'vote fuzzing' — deliberate randomization of displayed vote counts — to prevent vote manipulation from being precisely measured in real time. The true vote count is used for ranking, but the number displayed is intentionally approximate. This is why the displayed score on a post may not exactly match the raw upvote minus downvote count.
